So you want to be a part of the Build a Better World Challenge? You’re intrigued but want to get more information. Why do we care about creating a snowball effect of 15-30 second videos of humans talking about what a better world would look like and how they’re going to take action.
For multiple reasons:
2020 was one of the most difficult years in recent memory. Through the roof unemployment, a global pandemic, long overdue outrage of the injustices Black men, women, and other people of color face in their everyday lives, raging wildfires on the west coast, and an unprecedented, never-ending election.
I’m sure you already knew all of that and have been personally affected by the events in 2020. But 2021 is a new year, an opportunity to acknowledge the hardships we’ve faced, dig deep, and continue striving for a better world.
By challenging ourselves, and organizations to be vulnerable and share 15-30 second videos of how we want to build a better world in 2021, we will continue to remind each other that people really care about building a better world.
We draw inspiration from others who share their short story on building a better world, creating a snowball effect of encouragement.
Encouragement that building a better world is possible, and together we can achieve it.
We acknowledge that it can be scary to get in front of a camera and put out a video that could be seen by millions of people. But that’s the point as a former US president said, “Change is brought about by ordinary people, doing extraordinary things.” -Barack Obama
We invite you to share what kind of better world you want to see and how you will take action. We’re looking forward to going on this journey together.
